WESTON, Mass. - The Norwich University men's basketball team fell to the Pride of Regis College on Saturday afternoon, as the Pride took the 66-56 win in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action.
The Pride came out firing, utilizing an 18-2 run to build a 25-9 lead within the first ten minutes of action. The Cadets struggled to keep up offensively, going just 9-29 in the first half from the field on their way to a 34-25 halftime deficit. The second half was much the same, as Norwich was outscored 32-31 in the half as the Pride coasted to the 66-56 victory.
Freshman Caleb Casinas (Aiea, Hawaii) led the way for Norwich with a career-high 20 points off the bench on 7-12 shooting from the field. Kyle Booth (Northfield, Vt.) just missed a double-double with 15 points and nine rebounds, while Christopher Bryant (Crestview, Fla.) had a game-high ten rebounds to go with four points, three steals, and a block.
The loss brings Norwich's overall record to 6-9 on the season and a 0-3 mark within the conference. They'll be back in action next Thursday when they host New England College in non-conference action at 5:00 PM in Andrews Hall Gymnasium.
