NORTHFIELD, Vt. - The Norwich University men's basketball team fell in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) play on Saturday afternoon, as the Falcons of Albertus Magnus College dispatched the Cadets by an 80-59 final score.
Norwich fell behind early, as the Falcons opened the game on a 12-3 run to open a big early advantage. Norwich managed to trim the lead to single digits multiple times, but couldn't get over the hump and regain the lead. Albertus Magnus would open up a 36-21 lead by halftime, cruising to the 80-59 victory.
Caleb Casinas (Aiea, Hawaii) led the way for Norwich with 14 points on 4-5 shooting from three-point territory along with three rebounds, two assists, and a steal. Spencer Conatser (Reno, Nev.) and Jesse Davis (Woodinville, Wash.) each dropped in eight points, while Levi Gosselin (Nashua, N.H.) provided a nice six points, six rebounds spark off the bench in his first action in the maroon and gold. To round it, Kyle Booth (Northfield, Vt.) had a full score sheet with seven points, seven rebounds, six assists, and a pair of blocks.
With their tenth loss in a row, Norwich falls to 6-15 overall and 0-7 within the GNAC. They'll stay in the conference for their next matchup, traveling to Lasell College on Tuesday night to take on the Lasers at 7:30 PM.
