NORTHFIELD, Vt. – The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) announced on Monday night that sophomore forward Chris Duszynski (Okotoks, Alberta) of the Norwich University men’s ice hockey team was named the ECAC East Player of the Week for the week ending Dec. 4.
Duszynski scored two goals and added two primary assists to help lead Norwich to a big two-game sweep over Castleton and Skidmore this past weekend.
In Friday’s 3-2 win over Castleton in the “Battle of Vermont,” Duszynski had the primary assist on the Cadets’ first goal, as well as the primary helper on the eventual game-winning goal.
On Saturday, Duszynski followed up with another standout performance by scoring Norwich’s first two goals, including the game-winner to lead the Cadets to a 3-0 win over Skidmore. Duszynski now has three goals and two assists on the year for five points.
Norwich (8-0-0, 6-0-0 ECAC East) closes out the 2011 portion of its campaign on Friday night at 7 p.m. against Plattsburgh State at Kreitzberg Arena.
