CENTERVILLE, Mass. – The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Commissioner Rudy Keeling announced the 2011-12 ECAC East Men's All-Academic Team and the Norwich men's ice hockey team had 13 representatives on the list, which ranked second out of the 10 teams in the ECAC East.
The 13 Cadets were: Chris Czarnota, So. (Wakefield, Mass.); Pasha Kozhokin, Sr. (Kharkiv, Ukraine); Francois Gatien, So. (Boucherville, Quebec); Owen Carpino, Sr. (Nashua, N.H.); Shawn Baker, Sr. (Mont-Laurier, Quebec); Blake Forkey, Jr. (Boca Raton, Fla.); Pier-Olivier Cotnoir, Jr. (Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec); Shane Gorman, So. (Trumbull, Conn.); Travis Janke, So. (Swift Current, Saskatchewan); Igor Martinez, Sr. (Pembroke Pines, Fla.); Colin Mulvey, Jr. (Worcester, Mass.); Parker Carroll, So. (West Chester, Pa.); Chris Duszynski, So. (Okotoks, Alberta)
Kozhokin, Carpino, Baker, Forkey, Cotnoir, Martinez and Mulvey were each repeat selections from the 2011 ECAC East All-Academic team.
To be named to the All-Academic team, the student-athlete must have completed at least one academic year, have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.00 on a 4.00 scale, and have competed in at least one-half of her team's contests during the current season (a goaltender must have played at least 33 percent of her team's minutes).
Castleton State led the way with 16 players selected and Skidmore was third with 12.
