The Vermont Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association recently named Norwich men's ice hockey sophomore forward Travis Janke (Swift Current, Sask.) the Open Division Athlete of the Month for November.
Janke was a key part of the Cadets' 6-0 start in November, scoring five goals and adding twelve assists for 17 points in the six games. He put up a goal and three assists in a 7-4 win at University of New England, three more assists in a 5-1 victory at Southern Maine, two assists in a 6-3 win over New England College, and three goals and an assist in a 5-2 victory over St. Anselm.
He then finished the month with a goal in a 3-0 win over Plattsburgh State and three assists in a 5-2 victory over Elmira as Norwich won its seventh PrimeLink Great Northern ShootOut title.
