Men’s Hockey: Salvucci named NEHC Player of the Week

MARSHFIELD, Mass.  Senior forward Kevin Salvucci (Plymouth, Mass.) of the Norwich University men's ice hockey team was named the New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) Player of the Week on Monday afternoon. 

Salvucci tallied his second career hat trick as part of a four-point week as he led the Cadets to a huge weekend of sweep of conference rivals Babson and UMass Boston. 

Salvucci scored the game-winning goal and tallied a hat trick in a 5-3 victory over Babson College on Friday night. He also tallied an assist in a 5-4 win over UMass Boston on Saturday. 

Salvucci has seven goals and seven assists for 14 points in 16 games played this season to rank second on the team. 

Norwich (14-5-1, 11-2-1 NEHC) moved up to No. 11 in the USCHO.com poll released on Monday and is listed 12th in the d3hockey.com ranking. 

The Cadets have a busy week, hosting Plattsburgh State on Tuesday at 7 p.m. in Kreitzberg Arena. NU then heads out on the road to face New England College and Southern Maine again on Friday and Saturday.
