Men’s Hockey: Norwich to host Univ. of New England in NCAA Quarterfinals on March 16

NORTHFIELD, Vt. – The Norwich University men's ice hockey team will host the Univ. of New England on Saturday, March 16 at 7 p.m. in Kreitzberg Arena in a 2019 NCAA Division III Tournament Quarterfinal matchup. 

UNE (21-6-2) moved on to the quarterfinal round, following a 2-1 victory over Trinity (Conn.) this past Saturday in Hartford, Conn. 

Norwich (21-4-3) received a bye through the first round of the tournament after winning its 13th New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) Tournament title with a 2-1 win over Hobart College on March 2 at Kreitzberg Arena.

Prices are $6 for adults, $4 for youth/students and 2 and under are free.

The winner of Saturday's game will advance to the NCAA Division III Frozen Four, to be hosted at a campus site to be determined on Friday, March 22 and Saturday, March 23. The other quarterfinal matchups feature UW-Stevens Point hosting St. Norbert, Oswego State hosting Hobart and Geneseo hosting Manhattanville. In other first round action, St. Norbert beat Augsburg 4-3 in overtime, Hobart beat Plymouth State 2-1 and Manhattanville beat UMass Boston 6-4.
