NORTHFIELD, Vt. – The Cadets men's lacrosse team took two of the three top weekly honors in the conference this past week, as sophomore Joe Galante (Framingham, Mass.) was named "Player of the Week" and freshman Mark Paradiso (Westford, Mass.) earned the "Goalkeeper of the Week" award, the Great Northeast Athletic Conference announced on Monday night.
Paradiso came off the bench against Castleton to see 15 minutes of net time, where he turned away four shots on goal. On Saturday, he earned his first collegiate start and the first conference win for the team by making 10 saves and collecting five ground balls in the 10-9 win at Becker.
Galante led the Cadets in goals in their 12-4 loss to the Spartans of Castleton State, putting in two goals and one assist, but came back to score four goals – including the game-winner – and an assist on Saturday.
The men's lacrosse team will play their next game on the road against Lasell College. This conference contest was originally scheduled to be hosted on Howard Field, however weather conditions have relocated the game to Newton, Mass. Faceoff will be at 12 p.m. on Saturday.
