Men’s Rugby: Cadets to tour Ireland for March spring break trip

NORTHFIELD, Vt. – The Norwich University men's rugby program is headed across the Atlantic Ocean this March for its fourth international tour in the last 14 years.

The Cadets will spend 10 days in Ireland with three training sessions scheduled, as well as three matches. Norwich will face Clane RFC on March 11, Monivea RFC on March 15 and close the tour by playing Carlow RFC on March 17.

Thirty-eight people will be in the travel party with 31 players that will make stops in Dublin and Galway.

"This upcoming tour will provide an excellent platform for development and team building," said NU head coach Bob Weggler. "It is safe to say we are all looking forward to this unique experience."

Norwich University's last tour was in the spring of 2015 to England and Wales. The Cadets also made trips to Ireland in 2004 and 2011.

"We would like to thank the Scrum Alums for their continued support towards the Norwich University student-athletes and rugby development," Weggler said.

The trip will once again be run through Irish Rugby Tours, which has coordinated the previous three trips as well for Norwich.
