WALTHAM, Mass. - The Norwich University men's rugby team dropped its first conference game since the 2015 season with an 11-10 loss at Bentley University on Saturday afternoon.

The Cadets (0-2, 0-1 Rugby Northeast) had their 21-match conference winning streak snapped after Bentley converted on a successful penalty kick with five minutes to go in regulation to take the one-point lead.

Bentley scored the first points of the game on a penalty kick in the first half. However, Norwich responded with William Rambin (Fairfax, Va.) touching down for a try. Jeffrey Minicucci (Bolton, Conn.) converted Rambin's try to push the Norwich lead to 7-3 that the Cadets would hold into the halftime break.

Minicucci stretched the lead to 10-3 with a successful penalty kick to open the second half scoring. However, Bentley scored an unconverted try to cut the deficit to 10-8 and then added the late penalty kick to steal the victory.

Norwich will look to rebound when it hosts Providence on Saturday, Sept. 21 at 2 p.m. as part of NU Bicentennial and Homecoming Weekend.
