GNAC WEEK 7 REPORT

NORTHFIELD, Vt. – Sophomore Luke Gleadle (Gilbert, Ariz.) of the Norwich University men's soccer team was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Player of the Week on Monday afternoon.

Gleadle had a breakout offensive performance, scoring four goals and netting one assist for nine points to help lead the Cadets to two league victories over Lasell and Suffolk.

He scored a goal and an assist in a 7-0 victory over Lasell on Wednesday and then followed up with his best performance in a Maroon & Gold jersey on Saturday, scoring a natural hat trick to lead Norwich to a 5-2 win over Suffolk.

Gleadle scored three goals in a span of 13 minutes, including the eventual game-winning goal to give the Cadets a 3-0 lead early. He leads the team with eight goals and an assist for 17 points this season.

Gleadle helped Norwich extend its unbeaten streak vs. league opponents to 19 straight games with the victories. Norwich is 7-3-4 overall and 5-0-3 in GNAC play this season.

The Cadets travel to Mount Ida on Wednesday before returning home to host Albertus Magnus on Saturday at 7:30 p.m.

Gleadle is the third men's soccer player to earn GNAC weekly recognition this year after Matt Bento (Brookfield, Conn.) and Staige Davis (Shelburne, Vt.) earned Rookie of the Week honors earlier in the season.
