GNAC WEEK 3 REPORT

WINTHROP, Mass. – Freshman forward Bienfait Badibanga (Burlington, Vt.) of the Norwich University men's soccer team swept the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Player and Rookie of the Week honors for Week 3 on Monday afternoon. 

Badibanga scored his first collegiate hat trick as he accounted for every goal in Norwich's 3-1 victory over Albertus Magnus on Wednesday night in league action. 

He scored the game-winning goal at the 47:08 mark of the game to briefly give Norwich n a 2-0 lead. He then scored an insurance tally at the 67:29 mark of the game to give the Cadets some breathing room and a 3-1 lead. 

Bienfait Badibanga leads Norwich with four goals on the season and one assist for nine points. 

Norwich (4-0-3, 2-0-1 GNAC) is on a seven-game unbeaten streak to open the 2018 season, which is its longest streak to start a year since 2008. The Cadets will travel to Castleton University for a non-league match on Wednesday, slated to start at Wolk Stadium at 7 p.m. 

NU has had a player honored in all three weeks by the GNAC so far. Amerle Nemeye (Burlington, Vt.) was the Week 1 Rookie of the Week, while Brendan Germano (Monroe Township, N.J.) collected Week 2 Goalkeeper of the Week accolades.
