GNAC WEEK 4 REPORT

WINTHROP, Mass. – Freshman forward Amerle Nemeye (Burlington, Vt.) of the Norwich University men's soccer team earned his second Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Rookie of the Week award on Monday afternoon.

Nemeye scored the game-winning goal and also had an assist to lead the Cadets to a huge 2-1 win over intrastate rival Castleton University on Wednesday evening in non-conference action.

Nemeye's three points helped Norwich stretch its unbeaten streak to eight straight games to open the season in its only action of the week. His four goals are tied for the team lead and his 15 points lead the team, while ranking tied for the GNAC lead.

Norwich (5-0-3, 2-0-1 GNAC) will travel to Rivier on Wednesday for a league matchup, before returning home to host first-year program Univ. of St. Joseph (Conn.).

This week marks Nemeye's second GNAC Rookie of the Week honor. He also earned the award in Week 1. Norwich has had at least one player earn a GNAC weekly honor in each of the four weeks so far this season, including three of the four Rookie of the Week awards after Bienfait Badibanga (Burlington, Vt.) won last week's.
