BOSTON - The Norwich University men's soccer team battled Emmanuel College to a 1-1 tie on Saturday afternoon in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action.
Norwich (9-1-4, 6-1-2 GNAC) took an early lead courtesy of an own goal at the 5:50 mark. However, Emmanuel (5-7-2, 3-4-2 GNAC) leveled the score in the 20th minute with an unassisted free kick goal from Campbell Sheary to knot the score.
Senior goalkeeper Brendan Germano (Monroe Township, N.J.) made two saves for the Cadets in the tie, while Emmanuel's Jonathan Ferrarini stopped four shots.
Norwich outshot Emmanuel 7-5 in the game and had nine corner kicks to Emmanuel's six.
Norwich will travel to Colby-Sawyer on Saturday in another GNAC matchup. The Cadets are now just one point ahead of Johnson & Wales in the GNAC standings in the race for second place.
