Cobleskill, N.Y. – The Norwich University men's and women's swimming & diving teams competed against SUNY Delhi and host SUNY Cobleskill on Saturday.
The Cadets swept the day as the NU men topped SUNY Delhi 214-23 and SUNY Cobleskill 196-30 with the women's side besting SUNY Delhi 136-28 and SUNY Cobleskill 129-64.
The team of freshman Olivia Kelliher, freshman Megan Duffy (Shelton, Conn.), sophomore Keely Purington (Kailua, Hawaii) and sophomore Hannah Hughes (Fort Belvoir, Va.) won the 200 yard medley relay in 2:06.56. The NU men matched the women with a victory by senior Naveed Johnson (Olympia, Wash.), senior Dylan Henderson (Commerce Township, Mich.), senior Matt Clark (Acworth, Ga.) and junior Harrison Brock (Alexandria, Va.) in 1:49.16 in the 200 yard medley relay. Henderson also won the 50 yard breaststroke in 30.87 with Brock claiming the 50 yard freestyle in 24.64.
Sophomore Alex DiGiacomo (Norfolk, Mass.) won the 100 yard butterfly with a time of 57.64 while Hughes took the 50 yard freestyle in 29.19. Duffy placed first in the 100 yard freestyle in 58.41 and won the 100 yard breaststroke in 1:15.11. Kelliher took first in the 100 yard backstroke in 1:07.20.
Sophomore Cameron Ferriera (Cocoa Beach, Fla.) won the 100 yard breaststroke in 1:05.99 while junior Will Micali (Brentwood, N.H.) took first in the 500 yard freestyle in 5:35.98. Ferriera also won the 100 yard IM in 58.58. Purington claimed first in the 50 yard butterfly with a time of 33.49 and freshman Gordan Suwirjo (Derry, N.H.) won the 50 yard butterfly as well, posting a time of 26.87.
The team of Kelliher, freshman Kat Babcock-Connor (Andover, Mass.), Duffyy and senior Kylee Russell (Swanzey, N.H.) took first in the 200 yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:53.77. Micali, M. Clark, Brock and DiGiacomo claimed the men's 200 yard freestyle relay in 1:37.92.
The Cadets are next in action on Saturday, November 3rd at the UMass Invitational. The start time is set for noon.
