Swimming & Diving: Cadets Host Beavers and Pride in Tri-Meet

NORTHFIELD, Vt. – The Norwich University men's and women's swimming & diving teams hosted Babson College and Regis (Mass.) in a tri-meet on Saturday afternoon at Goodyear Pool.

The Cadet men topped the Pride 182-35, but fell to the Beavers 132-98. The NU women fell 123-107 to Regis and 132-95 to Babson.

Freshman Terese Whalen (Berryville, Va.) finished second in the women's 1,000 yard freestyle in 11:47.86. Sophomore Megan Duffy (Shelton, Conn.) won the women's 200 yard freestyle with a time of 2:01.83. Duffy also took second in the women's 200 yard IM in 2:18.94 and won the women's 500 yard freestyle in 5:27.36.

Freshman Nikky Ansley (Berlin, Germany) claimed first in the women's 50 yard freestyle in 25.35. She went on to place second in the women's 100 yard freestyle in 55.97

Senior Alex DiGiacomo (Norfolk, Mass.) finished in second in the men's 50 yard freestyle with a time of 22.35. He then won the men's 100 yard freestyle in 49.48. Sophomore Michael Kuehne (Auburn, Mich.) and junior Cameron Ferreira (Cocoa Beach, Fla.) tied for second in the men's 200 yard IM, touching the wall at 2:07.34. Kuehne also took second in the men's 100 yard breaststroke in 1:05.61.

Sophomore Sarah Carls (Niagara Falls, N.Y.) finished in second in the women's 1-meter diving competition with a score of 126.52 while freshman Jack Brennan (Hopkinton, Mass.) won the men's diving event with a final score of 121.19.

The Cadets are next in action on Saturday, December 7th at the Bridgewater State Invitational.
