BOSTON - The Norwich University men's tennis team suffered a 6-1 defeat to Suffolk in the semifinals of the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Tournament on Thursday evening.
The second-seeded Rams (8-3) took two of the three doubles sets and won all four singles matches to earn the victory and advance to the GNAC Tournament championship match.
Peter Hooper and Collin Hyte picked up the lone win for third-seeded Norwich (5-6) as the Cadets' No. 1 doubles tandem defeated Diego Alvarado and Garrett Freeman, 8-2.
Norwich will close out its 2009 campaign on Tuesday, April 28, when the Cadets travel to Johnson, Vt., to take on in-state rival Johnson State College at 4 p.m.
