Men's Tennis: Colby-Sawyer charges past Norwich, 8-1

NEW LONDON, N.H. - The Norwich University men's tennis team dropped its second straight league matchup with an 8-1 loss to conference newcomer Colby-Sawyer College on Saturday afternoon.

The third doubles team of juniors Dylan Ackerman (Saipain, Northern Mariana Islands) and Timothy Birnbaum (Mahwah, N.J.) beat Mike White and Matt Williamson to claim Norwich's lone victory of the day by an 8-5 win.

Colby-Sawyer (6-7, 2-1 GNAC North) dominated the rest of the action to cruise to the win. Sophomore Abbie Barker (Warren, Vt.) battled the toughest in singles action, falling 7-5 in the second set at No. 6 singles. 

Norwich (8-8, 0-2 GNAC North) will face another tough test on Monday, April 8 when it hosts another conference newcomer in Eastern Nazarene at 3:30 p.m. in Shapiro Field House for its final true home match of the season.
