Men's Tennis: Norwich falls 8-1 to Suffolk in season finale

WOBURN, Mass. - The Norwich University men's tennis team lost 8-1 to Suffolk University in its 2019 season finale on Saturday afternoon at the Woburn Racquet Club.

Freshman Timothy Santy (San Antonio, Texas) beat Rami Esrawi 3-6, 6-4, 10-7 to take No. 4 singles for Norwich's lone win of the day.

The Cadets (8-12, 0-5 GNAC North) battled hard in two of the three doubles matches, dropping first and third doubles by 8-6 scores. 

Senior Sam Beiter (Youngstown, N.Y.) played the final match of his collegiate career. He finished his senior year with a 6-14 singles record and a 6-14 doubles record. Overall, he went 23-27 in both singles and doubles action in his career.

Norwich tied its program record for wins in a single season with eight and also played the most matches its ever played in history under first-year head coach Matt Roche. Norwich also took its first-ever spring break trip in program history in 2019.
