Cross Country: Cadet Men Place 14th, Women 40th at NCAA DIII Regionals

BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Norwich University men's and women's cross country teams competed in the NCAA Division III New England Cross Country Championships, hosted by Bowdoin College.

The Cadet men placed 14th overall out of 58 teams while the women posted a 40th-place finish out of 57 teams.

 Junior Adam Saucier (Massena, N.Y.) led all NU runners with a 34th-place finish overall 25:57.02 on the 8k course. He also became the second All-Region recipient in NU men's cross country history (Brody Hale, 2017). Senior Korey Leonard (Pembroke, Mass.) finished in 44th in 26:09.27 while fellow senior Brody Hale (Naugatuck, Conn.) placed 56th in 26:15.75. 

Sophomore William Rapsas (Lanoka Harbor, N.J.) (168th place, 28:18.23) and junior Warren Yacawych (Northfield, Vt.) (182nd, 28:31.21) rounded out Cadet men in the top 200.

On the women's side NU was paced by senior Carisa DeKalb (San Diego, Calif.), who finished in 172nd in 24:52.99 on the 5k course. Junior Robyn Hageman (Westlake, Ohio) finished behind her in 207th with a time of 25:18.40. Sophomore Olivia Giarrizzo (Tampa, Fla.) placed 210th in 25:20.42 and freshman Belle Magna (Canton, Conn.) finished in 268th with a time of 26:32.02. 

The race marked the end of the season for both squads.
