Men's Cross Country: Saucier, Bergeron Sweep GNAC Plaudits

OFFICIAL CONFERENCE RELEASE

WINTHROP, Mass. - For the first time this season the Norwich University men's cross country team swept the Great Northeast Athletic Conference weekly awards, the league announced Monday afternoon.

Junior Adam Saucier (Massena, N.Y.) was named the GNAC Runner of the Week for the second time this season while freshman Zachary Bergeron (Blackstone, Mass.) earned his second Rookie of the Week honor as well.

Saucier paced all Norwich runners with a fifth-place finish in 25:55.93 on the 8k course at the 23rd Annual James Earley Invitational, hosted by Westfield State on Saturday afternoon. Bergeron capped Cadet finishers in the top 50 with a 42nd-place finish in 27:45.68.

Norwich is next in action on Saturday, October 13th at the Bowdoin College Invitational. The women's race is slated for 11:00 a.m. with the men's race set for noon.
