WESTFIELD, Mass. – The Norwich University men's and women's cross country teams competed in the 24th annual James Earley Invitational, hosted by Westfield State University on Saturday.
The Cadet men finished in sixth place out of 28 teams while the women's quad posted a 17th place finish out of 28 teams.
On the men's side, Norwich was paced by junior Trenton Shimata (Colorado Springs, Co.), who finished 28th overall with a time of 27:02.88 on the 8k course. Sophomore Zachary Bergeron (Blackstone, Mass.) finished in 39th place in 27:32.13 while senior Adam Saucier (Massena, N.Y.) finished 47th in 27:45.51. Senior Kevon Pascoe (Richlands, N.C.) capped Cadet runners in the top 60 with a 59th place finish in 28:10.20.
In women's action NU was led once again by freshman Remi Parker, who finished in 25th place overall in 19:38.59 on the 5k course. Senior Robyn Hageman (Westlake, Ohio) placed 88th in 20:48.22 while sophomore Belle Magna (Canton, Conn.) finished in 116th with a time of 21:39.52. Freshman Gracie Reitzig capped NU runners in the top 125 with a 125th place finish in 21:59.06.
The Cadets are next in action on Saturday, October 19th at the Connecticut College Invitational. Both races are slated for 11 a.m.
