Women's Basketball: JWU rallies to beat Norwich, 46-44

NORTHFIELD, Vt. - The Norwich University women's basketball team dropped a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) contest to the Wildcats of Johnson & Wales University on Saturday afternoon by a 46-44 final score.

NU held their annual Senior Day ceremony prior to the game today, honoring the contributions of Shyann Josler (Thetford Center, Vt.)Arianna Harrison (Vernon, Vt.), and Paige McNally (Barre, Vt.) as they get ready to graduate this spring.

Things on the court got off to a great start for the Cadets, and they headed into the half with a 28-10 advantage over the visiting Wildcats. 

However, the JWU squad came out with a vengeance in the second half and dominated the game from then on. They outscored the Cadets 14-6 in the third and 22-10 in the fourth to overcome the steep halftime deficit and take the game by a 46-44 final. 

Arianna Harrison notched the double-double with 10 points and 13 rebounds on the day. Shyann Josler led the Cadets with 11 points, and Vanessa Fleury (Lebanon, N.H.) pulled down 9 boards on the day. 

Emily Beauvais pulled down an astounding 21 rebounds for the Wildcats, while Raquel Pederzani collected a game-high 16 points.

The Cadets are back on the court this Tuesday for their final home game of the season when they host GNAC rival Anna Maria at 5:30 PM.
