NORTHFIELD, Vt. - The Norwich University women's basketball team fell on the road Thursday night, as Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) rival Emmanuel College took down Norwich by a 73-43 final score.
Emmanuel jumped out early with a 19-3 run to end the first quarter, effectively putting the game out of reach right away. The Saints would go on to outscore Norwich in each quarter, cruising to the 73-43 victory. The Cadets had trouble maintaining possession, as the Saints turned 24 Cadet turnovers into 26 points. Norwich was also outpaced in rebounds (53-30) and assists (23-9) as they shot just 29.6% from the field as a team.
With the loss, Norwich falls to 7-11 overall on the year and 2-4 within the GNAC. They'll return to the court a week from today when they travel to take on Anna Maria at 6:00 PM.
