NORTHFIELD, Vt. – Freshman forward Kaycie Anderson of the Norwich University women's ice hockey team earned her first Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) East Rookie of the Week honor for the week ending Dec. 11.
Anderson (Maple Plain, Minn.) scored the game-winning goal 2:27 into overtime in Wednesday's 3-2 win over No. 8 Plattsburgh State at Kreitzberg Arena. The goal was Anderson's 11th of the season, which ranks second on the team and second nationally out of all Division III rookies.
Anderson also tallied an assist in Saturday's 4-1 win over Bowdoin to help the Cadets stretch their unbeaten streak to 10 straight games. Norwich hasn't lost since Oct. 29 when the Cadets dropped a 4-1 decision to No. 1-ranked R.I.T.
Norwich (10-1-1, 7-0-1 ECAC East) is off until Friday, Jan. 6 when the Cadets travel to South Burlington, Vt. to take on in-state foe St. Michael's at Cairns Arena at 7 p.m.
