Women’s Hockey: Rossini earns NEHC Player of the Week plaudits

MARSHFIELD, Mass. – Junior forward Adrieana Rossini (Malden, Mass.) of the Norwich University women's ice hockey team was named the New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) Player of the Week on Monday. 

Rossini scored five goals on the week, including at least one in each game to lead the Cadets to a 2-0-1 week with two games vs. top-10 ranked opponents. 

Rossini scored twice in wins over New England College on Monday and then No. 10 Endicott on Wednesday. She also scored the game-tying goal for the second straight year vs. No. 2/3 Elmira College on Saturday to help the Cadets salvage a 3-3 tie. 

Rossini has 12 goals and 10 assists for 22 points on the season. She is tied for the team lead with five power play goals and three game-winning goals. 

Norwich has now had the NEHC Player of the Week six times this season with Rossini earning the award this week. 

Norwich is 14-1-2 on the season and 7-0-0 in NEHC play. The Cadets stayed at No. 2 in the latest d3hockey.com national poll and jumped up to No. 2 in the USCHO.com poll released on Monday. 

The Cadets return home to Kreitzberg Arena to host UMass Boston at 7 p.m. on Friday and Salve Regina on Saturday at 3 p.m. On Saturday, Norwich will celebrate Senior Day with eight seniors on this year's team being honored with a pre-game ceremony.
