MARSHFIELD, Mass. – Sophomore Amanda Conway (Methuen, Mass.) of the Norwich University women's ice hockey team won her third New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) Player of the Week award on Monday afternoon.
Conway scored three goals and tallied an assist for four points to lead the Cadets to a weekend sweep over UMass Boston and Salve Regina.
Conway scored twice in Norwich's 7-0 victory over second place UMass Boston on Friday, she then added a goal and an assist in Saturday's 5-0 win over Salve Regina.
Conway ranks tied for second in the country with 37 points on the season. She has 19 goals and 18 assists, which leads Norwich and has her on pace to approach Julie Fortier's '12 single-season record of 55 points from the 2011-12 season.
Norwich (16-1-2, 9-0-0 NEHC) has eclipsed the 2012 team's 16-2-1 start to the season for the best record in program history through 19 games.
The Cadets also regained the No. 1 spot in the USCHO.com National Ranking on Monday after a three-week hiatus. NU stayed No. 2 in the d3hockey.com poll behind Plattsburgh State.
Norwich will travel to Castleton University on Tuesday, Jan. 30 for a 7 p.m. matchup at Spartan Arena.
