INDIANAPOLIS – The Norwich University women's ice hockey team will host Morrisville State on Saturday, March 10 at 3 p.m. in a NCAA Division III Tournament Quarterfinal matchup at Kreitzberg Arena.
Norwich (24-1-3) won its eighth New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) Tournament title with a 7-0 victory over UMass Boston to secure an automatic bid into the nine-team NCAA tournament. The Cadets will be making their ninth NCAA Tournament appearance in just 11 years as a varsity program.
Morrisville State (17-7-3) won the Colonial Hockey Conference (CHC) Tournament for the second straight year with a 3-2 overtime win over Endicott on Sunday. The Mustangs will be making their first NCAA Tournament appearance in just their third year as a varsity program. Morrisville claimed the first-ever automatic bid from the CHC with its victory.
Saturday will mark the first time Norwich and Morrisville State will meet in women's ice hockey. The two teams had three common opponents this year in Middlebury, Endicott and Castleton. Morrisville won all three meetings with Endicott, but lost to Castleton 1-0 and Middlebury 4-1.
Norwich beat Endicott 4-1, tied Middlebury 2-2 and swept two meetings vs. Castleton 9-0 and 8-1.

The other quarterfinal matchups feature Middlebury traveling to Plattsburgh State, Adrian going to Elmira, while Hamline hosts the winner of UW-Eau Claire and Gustavus Adolphus.
With a victory on Saturday, Norwich would host the NCAA Division III Women's Ice Hockey Championship on Friday, March 16 and 17 for the first time in program history.
