Amanda Conway women's hockey NEHC Player of the Week

MARSHFIELD, Mass. - Junior forward Amanda Conway (Metheun, Mass.) continued her torrid scoring pace to start the season with two more two-goal games to lead the Norwich University women's ice hockey team to two victories and earn her back-to-back New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) Player of the Week selection nods.

Conway scored twice in Friday's 6-1 win over New England College, and then she scored the game-winning goal with 3:02 left in the third period to break a 2-2 tie vs. Plymouth State and lift the Cadets to a 4-2 victory. She also picked up her first assist of the year with an insurance tally for the fourth NU goal.

Conway is tied for the national lead with six goals so far through three games. She has also now scored 60 goals in 57 career games and has 94 career points.

Conway earned her fifth NEHC Player of the Week award with the four goals and one assist effort on the weekend.

Norwich is No. 2 in the latest d3hockey.com national rankings and No. 3 in the USCHO rankings that were also released on Monday afternoon.

The Cadets will travel to Plattsburgh State on Wednesday for a huge 7 p.m. showdown with the six-time NCAA champion Cardinals at the Ronald B. Stafford Ice Arena. Norwich will then finally play its 2018-19 home opener on Friday at 7 p.m. when it hosts Southern Maine and also raises its 2018 NCAA Division III National Championship banner to the Kreitzberg Arena rafters.
