Women’s Hockey: Rossini earns NEHC Player of the Week honors

NEHC WEEK 4 REPORT

NORTHFIELD, Vt. – Senior forward Adrieana Rossini (Malden, Mass.) was named the New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) Player of the Week on Monday afternoon. 

Rossini scored a goal and tallied four assists for a five-point week to lead the Norwich University women's ice hockey team to a weekend sweep of New England College and Castleton University. 

Rossini dished out three helpers, including the primary assist on the game-winning goal in Friday's 8-1 win over New England College. She also scored a goal and had an assist to help Norwich pull away from Castleton University in an 8-0 win over Saturday to hand the Spartans their first conference loss of the season. 

Rossini leads Norwich with three goals and nine assists for 12 points on the season. She ranks tied for 10th in Division III in total points and leads the NEHC with 11 points in league games this season. 

Rossini has 90 career points in 74 games with 40 goals and 50 assists. 89 of her 90 career points have come at Norwich after she transferred from Division I Northeastern after her freshman season. 

Norwich has now produced three of the four NEHC Player of the Week award winners with Amanda Conway (Metheun, Mass.) taking the honors in the first two weeks. 

Norwich (5-2-0, 5-0-0 NEHC) is ranked third in both the USCHO.com and d3hockey.com national rankings released on Monday afternoon.

The Cadets are next in action on Friday, Nov. 30 when they host Salem State for the first time in program history at 4 p.m. in Kreitzberg Arena. NU will then take on Suffolk University at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 1.
