Women’s Hockey: Conway cops NEHC Player of the Week award

MARSHFIELD, Mass. – Junior forward Amanda Conway (Methuen, Mass.) of the Norwich University women's ice hockey team earned her fourth New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) Player of the Week award on Monday afternoon. 

Conway scored four goals and had an assist for a five-point week to lead the Cadets to a 2-0-1 week. 

Conway scored in a 2-2 tie vs. Endicott College on Monday, then she scored two goals and had an assist vs. Salem State on Friday. She finished off the week with another goal vs. Trinity on Saturday as part of a 4-2 win. 

Conway has 21 goals on the season, which ties her with Elmira's Katie Granato for the NCAA Division III scoring lead. Conway surpassed Sophie Leclerc '10 for second on the NU all-time goal scoring list with her four goals on the week. She now sits with 75 goals in 71 career games, trailing only Julie Fortier's '12 program-record 93 goals.   

Conway leads Norwich with 21 goals and 10 assists for 31 points this season. She has won a conference-leading four player of the week honors and has helped lead Norwich to seven of the 10 player of the week awards handed out by the NEHC this season. 

Norwich remained No. 4 in the d3hockey.com national poll, but dropped to No. 6 in the USCHO.com rankings after the 2-0-1 week. 

The Cadets host Amherst on Tuesday, Jan. 22 at 6 p.m. in a non-conference matchup at Kreitzberg Arena.
