Wrestling: Cadets compete at Roger WIlliams Invitational, place tenth

BRISTOL, R.I. - The Norwich University wrestling squad traveled down to Roger Williams University on Saturday afternoon to compete at the twelve team Invitational, finishing the day in the tenth place position with 39 team points. 

The standout performer for the Cadets this weekend was junior Michael Wagner who rattled off four individual victories on the day to wind up placing fifth overall in the 197-lb class. After opening his day with a victory in the championship bracket, he fell to eventual first place winner Michael DiNardo of JWU in the quarterfinals. He then went on to defeat three opponents in the consolation bracket to claw his way to the fifth-place finish and earn his team vital points.

The Cadets have a big matchup for their next tilt, as they'll travel to Castleton University for the annual "Battle for the Green Mountain Championship" between Vermont's two collegiate wrestling programs. The bout is set to get going at 7:00 PM.
