Wrestling: Castleton reclaims Green Mountain Championship, defeats Norwich 40-9

CASTLETON, Vt. - The second iteration of the Battle for the Green Mountain Championship between Norwich University and Castleton University took place on Wednesday night, with the nationally ranked Spartans taking the meet by a 40-9 final score.

Things got off to a great start for Norwich, as freshman Blaise Bessler took down Castleton's Mason LaFlam by fall (3:43) in the opening bout. From there, the #21 ranked Spartans took control of the match, rattling off victories in eight of the next nine matches. Jacob Forsman (Voorhees, N.J.) took down Nick Camaco, the sixth-ranked 125-lb wrestler in the New England Wrestling Association individual rankings, by an 8-6 decision to provide a bright spot for Norwich, but it ultimately wasn't enough as Castleton cruised to the 40-9 victory.

Norwich will be back in action on November 17th at WPI, in a super quad featuring King's College and Roger Williams set to start at 11:00 AM.
