NORTHFIELD, Vt. – For the first time in school history, Norwich University will host the 25th annual All-Academy Wrestling Championships presented by USAA on Saturday, Jan. 26 in Plumley Armory.
Norwich will welcome the five military service academies in Army West Point, Navy, Air Force, Merchant Marine and Coast Guard. Virginia Military Institute and The Citadel also join the Cadets to complete the eight-team, one-of-a-kind varsity collegiate competition field that includes some of the most talented NCAA Division I wrestlers in the country.
Admission to the wrestling portion of the event is free and for those unable to attend, there will be a live stream of both mats on www.trackwrestling.com.
The tournament will start at 10 a.m. on Saturday morning with finals tentatively scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. Following the wrestling action, there will be a banquet in Milano Ballroom for the participating teams and the public.

Norwich's first All-American wrestler Tom Rainville '90 will be the keynote speaker for the event. Rainville is a retired U.S. Navy SEAL and was inducted into the Norwich University Athletic Hall of Fame in 2000, as well as the New England Wrestling Association (NEWA) Hall of Fame in 2008.
Rainville was the first Norwich wrestler to earn All-New England honors four straight years and was also the first to collect 100 career wins. He was a two-time New England champion at 167 pounds, placing fifth in the NCAAs as a junior and sixth as a senior.
Norwich has a packed month of January prior to hosting the All-Academy Championships. The Cadets open the new year on Jan. 13 traveling to the Coast Guard Academy for a quad-meet with CGA, Southern Maine and Johnson & Wales.
NU will then travel to Springfield for a dual meet on Jan. 16 at 6 p.m. before heading to the annual New England Dual Meet Championship at Providence Career and Technical Academy on Jan. 20.
