Women's Rugby: Norwich crushes West Chester, 83-24

NORTHFIELD, Vt. – The Norwich University women's rugby scored early and often en route to an 83-24 victory over West Chester University on Saturday morning at the NU Dog River Rugby Pitch. 

Junior No. 8 Sheila Decker (Saranac Lake, N.Y.) accounted for a season-high 33 points in the game with two tries, 10-for-12 on conversions and 1-for-2 on penalty kicks. 

Sophomore Caitlin Heale (Christchurch, New Zealand) added four tries to set a new single-game career high. Senior Denisse Zambon (Bronx, N.Y.) added three tries as well to help lead the Cadets' offense. 

Ida Mweze (Worcester, Mass.), Morgan Woods (Newton, Mass.) and Skylar Tonumapai'a (Anaheim, Calif.) each added tries as well to round out the Norwich offensive leaders. 

Norwich (3-2, 3-2 NIRA T1) built up a 59-5 lead by halftime and the Cadets scored twice in the opening five minutes of the match to take a 14-0 lead early. 

The Cadets host Notre Dame College (Ohio) on Saturday, Oct. 14 at 11 a.m. on the NU Dog River Rugby Pitch.
