HENNIKER, N.H. - Molly Bieksha scored with 3:47 left in regulation to lift New England College to a 1-0 victory over the Norwich University women's soccer team on Friday afternoon in the opening game of the New England College Classic.

Norwich (0-3) outshot New England College (1-2) by a 6-4 margin in the first half, but the Cadets were unable to get on the board. NEC controlled the possession and shots in the second half, outshooting the Cadets 11-5 in the second 45 minutes before finally scoring the game's lone tally in the final few minutes.

Sophomore goalkeeper Kim Watt (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) once again put in a yeoman's effort in goal, making five saves in the game. Sophomore forward Karyssa Lachance (Gorham, N.H.) had a game-high six shots, including four on target, but the Cadets were once again stifled offensively for the third game in a row.

Freshman Tara Grogan (Statesville, N.C.) had two shots on goal as well for Norwich.

Norwich will continue its quest for its first victory of 2019 when it takes on Roger Williams on Saturday, Sept. 7 at 2:30 p.m. in the final game of the New England College Classic.
