NORTHFIELD, Vt. - The Norwich University women's soccer team suffered a 4-1 setback to Emmanuel College on Saturday night to close Norwich University's Bicetennial and Homecoming Weekend on Sabine Field.

Sophomore forward Karyssa Lachance (Gorham, N,H.) scored her fourth goal of the season, but it wasn't enough as Emmanuel (2-5, 1-1 GNAC) scored two second-half goals to pull away for the victory.

Emmanuel's Natalie Dash had a hat trick to lead the Saints' offense. Lachance briefly cut the Emmanuel lead to 2-1 with a goal in the 50th minute. However, Emmanuel scored in the 57th and 73rd minute to pull away for the win.

Lachance struck a brilliant ball destined for the top left corner of the net and over the outstretched hands of Emmanuel's Alyssa Crugnale from 30 yards out for the Cadets' lone goal on the day.

Sophomore goalie Kim Watt (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) made seven saves in goal, but the Saints tagged her for four goals to win their seventh straight game vs. Norwich.

Norwich will host head coach Heather Faasse's alma mater Colby-Sawyer College on Wednesday, Sept. 25 at 7 p.m. in another GNAC matchup.
