Swimming & Diving: Cadets and Corsairs Split Dual Meet

DARTMOUTH, Mass. – The Norwich University men's and women's swimming & diving teams competed in a dual meet at UMASS Dartmouth on Saturday afternoon.

The Cadets and Corsairs split the meet with the Norwich women picking up a 131-126 win while the UMASS Dartmouth men took a 160-124 result.

Senior Kylee Russell (Swanzey, N.H.) won the 1,000 yard freestyle, posting a time of 12:05.75.

Freshman Megan Duffy (Shelton, Conn.) took first in the 200 yard freestyle in 2:05.09, she also won the 100 yard butterfly in 1:02.74 and the 200 yard IM with a time of 2:22.31.

Junior Austen Greene (Herndon, Va.) won the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 59,75 while freshman Gordon Suwirjo (Derry, N.H.) claimed victory in the 200 yard butterfly in 2:13.33.

Junior Alex DiGiacomo (Norfolk, Mass.) won both the 50 yard freestyle in 22.85 and the 100 yard butterfly in 57.03.

Sarah Carls won the 1 meter diving competition with 195.57 points and claimed the 3 meter contest with a score of 178.95.

Sophomore Joseph Clark (Acworth, Ga.) won the 200 yard backstroke in 2:08.57 with fellow sophomore Cameron Ferreira (Cocoa Beach, Fla.) taking first in the 200 yard IM in 2:09.54.

The team of freshman Olivia Kelliher (Weymouth, Mass.), freshman Callista Lemieux (Derry, N.H.), sophomore Keely Purington (Kailua, Hawaii) and Envy Wiilliams won the 400 yard freestyle relay in 4:22.93.

The Cadets are next in action on Thursday, January 23rd for a home dual meet against Keene State. That meet is set for 5:00 p.m.
