Cross Country: Cadet Women, Men Take 27th at Conn. College Invitationa;l

WATERFORD, Conn. – The Norwich University men's and women's cross country teams competed in the Connecticut College Invitational on Saturday morning.

The NU men and women both placed 27th overall at the highly competitive event.

In men's action junior Trenton Shimata (Colorado Springs, Colo.) led the squad with a 155th place finish in 26:38.0 on the 8k course. Sophomore Zachary Bergeron (Blackstone, Mass.) finished 220th in 27:19.5 while senior Kevon Pascoe (Richlands, N.C.) placed 298th in 28:16.8. Freshman Nate Stucky (Fort Bragg, N.C.) capped NU runners in the top 300 with a 299th place finish in 28:25.3.

On the women's side, freshman Remi Parker led the Cadets once again with a 162nd place finish in 24:08.3 on the 5k course. Freshman Katerina Schmitt placed 320th in 26:48.3 with fellow freshman Jacie Harlow finishing in 324th place in 26:55.4 and sophomore Belle Magna (Canton, Conn.) following in 325th in 26:58.7.

The Cadets are next in action on Saturday, November 2nd at the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Championship meet, hosted by Saint Joseph's College (Maine). Both races are slated for 1:00 p.m.
