BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Norwich University men’s and women’s cross country teams concluded their 2019 season at the NCAA Division III New England Regionals, hosted by Bowdoin College on Saturday.
The Cadet men finished 31st out of 54 teams while the NU women took 45th out of 54 teams.
Junior Trenton Shimata (Colorado Springs, Colo.) paced the Cadet men with a 116th-place finish on the 8k course. He competed the race in 26:57.7. Sophomore Zachary Bergeron (Blackstone, Mass.) placed 154th with a time of 27:38.2 with fellow sophomore Nathaniel Stucky (Fort Bragg, N.C.) taking 213th in 28:27.8. Junior William Rapsas (Lanoka Harbor, N.J.) finished in 218th in 28:34.0.
On the women’s side freshman Remi Parker (Port Lacava, Texas) led the team with a 124th-place finish overall in 23:50.6 on the 6k course. She was the top NU women’s finisher in every race this season. Senior Robyn Hageman (Westlake, Ohio) placed 256th in 26:13.4 with sophomore Belle Magna (Canton, Conn.) taking 297th in 27:24.2. Junior Paige Roche (Cohasset, Mass.) rounded out Cadet runners in the top 300 with a 300th-place finish in 27:28.3.
This race served as the final competition for both teams in 2019.
